“What information are you withholding?”
“The fact that I would rather like to kiss you again,” Devon
blatantly confessed.
“How much punishment do you think I deserve, monsieur?” Jasmine asked,
keeping the tremor in her voice at bay.
Devon’s shoulders shook at the rebuke. “My mistake. You did mention that a
kiss would be something I’d never have the privilege of taking from you
again.”
“Oui,” Jasmine agreed. “You are wasting your time.”
“I’ll probably need a tetanus shot. Moreover, I don’t suppose any man, with you being the Ice Queen and all, any man is going to find it easy to thaw you out.” “The ideal temperature my body likes to be is ninety-eight degrees,” she answered, feeling a tightening of the muscles in her stomach. “One of your kisses wouldn’t even get my pulse to rise.”
Devon took two steps toward her. “What about your heart?”
Undeterred, he reached out and touched her bottom lip. “The last time I
kissed you, it melted.”
One tug was all it took to pull Jasmine back into his arms. Before the
moment could take shape, the pressure of Devon’s lips was on hers. Jasmine’s
response took her by complete surprise. She hadn’t so much thawed as
evaporated with the touch of his fire. Who was this man who had the power to
turn her from ice into a steaming mass of ultra sensitive vapor?

A NEW LOVE

“A man only has to look at you to know there’s no other place he would rather be,” Bren whispered, moments before his forefinger dropped to Latisha’s lower lip and began to rub the soft flesh persuasively.
“Bren . . .” Her mouth quivered beneath his touch. She wanted to protest,
but her heart
was pounding so madly, Latisha feared she would faint.
“Don’t say anything,” he drawled, softly. His forefinger now on her chin, he
tilted her
face upward. “Don’t think anything. Just let me kiss those tears away.”
Transfixed, Latisha met his gaze and positively felt herself swoon as her
eyes closed.
Bren grasped her lips and in one swift movement, took sensual control. His
kiss was sweetly
bruising and deeply provocative, enlivening something deep inside Latisha
that had once felt
wounded, but was now shaking with emotional healing. Bren’s tempting,
pulsing lips skimmed
over every inch of soft, wet tissue, transferring something inexplicably
tender. His eyes closed.
He savored the electric breath that passed between them, then stopped.
Latisha gasped. The
sudden loss of warmth, of intimacy, of closeness, left her equally as moved
as it did Bren Hunter.

He smiled. "Miss Alexander?"
"Mr. Langston," Paige gasped, breathless on hearing the mild Southern accent up close. "How long have you been standing there?"
"A few minutes, watching you," he answered.
"You might have alerted me sooner," Paige breathed, quite flustered. "I have been —"
"Waiting for me," he crooned.
Paige felt the hot flush of blood rush into her cheeks. She was aware he noticed it, too. If her suspicions were correct, she also knew he could visibly see the palpitations of her heart. Hoping to disguise her reaction well, she decided to offer her his hand to affect a friendly handshake. It seemed the most polite thing to do. And it would have been had she chosen a more conventional man. But Rhys Langston was far from formal.
He took the hand she offered and handled her delicately boned fingers with the familiarity of a man who was used to touching women. Raising it to his lips, he kissed each finger in turn until Paige was speechless with awe. Every nerve ending in her body suddenly became alive with the unexpected sensual onslaught, and before she could descend from the blissful moment of surprise, he gently pulled her into him and caught her unawares further with a curt kiss on her lips. It was the briefest of kisses, yet she felt as though every inch of her mouth had been devoured. He caught her breath and made it his own, claimed her tongue for one fleeting taste of her ardor, and captured her lips with such fervent need, she felt the gasping pants of her heart being pulled out of her body and abandoned into infinite freedom.
The public intimacy of the moment did not escape her when his eyes, sparkling in their incredible soulful depths, finally ensnared her own. It was a heart stopping moment. Paige swallowed convulsively, hoping she could dispel the image that provoked in her head. I wonder if you’re as wild in bed as you look? From where she had acquired such shameless thoughts about him, she did not know.
He licked his sexy lips. "You needed that."
Paige lifted one brow. "Did I?" Her voice came out a feeble sound.
"Yes," he whispered against her lips, never once taking his eyes off her.
"I have a taxi outside." To her surprise, her tone was hoarse and needy.
He took his wallet from his jacket pocket and handed it over to her. "Let’s not keep it waiting."

Eve sighed and turned to the task of searching the professor's bedroom for the secret formula. But the moment she put her hands to her hips in readiness to begin the guileful chore, she was knocked dumb when the door to the en suite bathroom shot wide open, and Theo, standing tall and majestic like an ebony god, emerged and stared blankly at her.
He wore a blue towel around his waist, and his hairy chest and muscular body were wet, an indication that he had just stepped from the shower. Eve was aghast. She absorbed Theo's beguiled expression with nervous embarrassment. It was obvious from the way his face began to change to one of sheer amazement that he had not expected to find her there.
Her wayward, primitive instincts were tangibly aware that the towel was the only impediment that concealed his naked flesh. That same subconscious also took the rare opportunity to assimilate his athletically structured physique: his rounded shoulders, medium-sized biceps, sturdy arms, and lean torso, tapered amiably to an equally trim waistline.
"When . . . when did you get back?" Eve asked.
"About a half hour ago,"
Theo said softly, glancing at his watch. "I'd better get dressed. We're still on for dinner?"
Eve nodded, too overawed to speak. But at least her feet had regained motion. She was able to advance toward the door. She did not expect Theo to restrain her, yet no sooner had she passed the bottom post of his bed, than he took hold of her arm and gently tugged her toward him.

EXCLUSIVE
"If I promise to write an entirely honest feature about you, then will you give me an exclusive?"
Desney leaned back on her heels. "How are you going to write honestly about me when you know nothing about my life?"
"I'll attach one of my subwriters to you twenty-four seven," Wade explained. "I want you to do it," Desney suggested arrogantly.
"What?"
"The only terms I'm willing to accept is for you to do the hard work," she jibed. "I want you to shadow me twenty-four seven."
"Why are you --- "
"It's the only way you'll learn that your subjects are real people with feelings," Desney interrupted. "Take it or leave it."
"I'll leave it," Wade drawled casually.
She gave an insolent shrug of her shoulders, cast Wade one last thundering glance, and then turned on her heel toward the glass doors.
"Wait!" Wade was out of his mesh chair in an instant. He crossed the room just as quickly. "You want a shadow? You've got one." The words were hardly off his tongue when he grabbed her wrist.
Surprised, Desney brought her arms up in an attempt to break his hold, but that only enabled Wade to tug her into his arms. Their eyes met, and Desney was aware that his features had suddenly softened. He knew he was over-stepping professional conduct to have her interlocked against his hard-muscled frame, and Desney could also sense the brief tremble of his body, making her wonder whether she had affected him in some way. It wasn't so unlike the tremble of her own limbs.
"Twenty-four seven," he purred into her right ear. "Wherever you turn, I'll be right behind you. And by the time I'm done, I'll be telling my readers the color of your lingerie."

FOR OLD TIME'S SAKE
"Brad, there are some things a woman likes to put behind her." Arlisa paused. "The past is one of them."
Brad was alerted to the inherent dangers of the situation, attempting to pick up from where they'd left off. Yet he couldn't help himself. He didn't deserve a clear berth where she was concerned, but the thought of parting on a kiss suddenly seemed appealing.
Odd set of word immediately passed from his lips. "Sometimes the past can be the future."
Arlisa hesitated. "This is where I say good-bye, Brad."
He leaned across to her, so close, Arlisa felt his glare on her. "Where are you going?" The rawness of his voice sent Arlisa's pulses accelerating.
"Away from you," Arlisa pounced, discovering that he was staring at her mouth. "Wait." Brad's fingers touched the bottom of her lip.
"Brad, you're getting dangerous," she resisted.
"Maybe," he agreed. "But for the sake of what we've been to one another, I want us to part on . . ." He dared say it ". . . a farewell kiss."
"Brad . . ." Her voice died in her throat. His hands had crept up to her arms.
"Not even for old time's sake?" came the hoarse, arousing tone.
Arlisa was aware of this man standing in front of her, where she could feel the heat of his body growing even closer. And then the hard angles of his face slowly became absorbed into hers.

KISS ME AGAIN
"Let me show you how different I am," Cole drawled huskily.
He claimed Carla's lips, rubbing across them in slow motion with a coaxing intensity that made her wild with yearning.
She'd never been kissed like this before. It was amazing . . . it was awful . . . she felt eager . . . she felt appalled.
When Cole finally released her, his breath was ragged and his hands were shaking against her arms, knowingly aware that Carla had tried to resist him. "What am I going to do about you?"
Carla was at a loss. "I don't know."
Cole's gaze met her sable eyes. "So Darnell Farrell hurt you, and now you think every man is going to treat you in the same way he did. Well, Carla, take a good look. I'm Cole Richmond, not Darnell Farrell. If you think you're going to confuse the two of us in your mind, then maybe it's time you made me kiss you again . . ."
